Yeah that is Envy's true form! It shows you his true form at the ending of episode 50 (Death) %26amp; episode 51 (Laws %26amp; Promises)(last 2 episodes)! Hes is Edward's older half brother! Hes like 300 or more years older then him (I think). He is the son of Hohenheim %26amp; Danta! Hohenheim Of Light is Ed's dad! I don't know if you knew that or not. I'm not sure how much you've seen of the series (i own then all %26amp; the movie!^.^ %26amp; i'm starting on the manga). Envy was made when Hohenheim tried to bring back his son, Who "died prematurely from mercury posioning." When this didn't work Envy was created! The first homunculus (or so it says)! The only thing I didn't understand is that Envy said he couldn't remember his original form. I'm not sure if you know this but Danta %26amp; Hohenheim were lovers 100's of years ago. When they both made a philosophers stone Hohenheim was so warn out from the alchemy used to make it that he was dieing. On impulse Danta connected his soul to another mans body useing the stone. There by discovering how to live forever! Though thats not really true, "theres no such thing as eternal life", each time they jumped bodies they would lose a bit of their soul. %26amp; soon there souls were no longer even able to substain a body (they would rot away in the body). After the lose of their son %26amp; not suceeding to bring him back to life Hohenheim left Danta %26amp; started a new family with Trisha (who he tells Ed is the only woman he ever loved! So I guess he didn't love Danta %26amp; I also beleve he left Danta because he couldn't stand being with some one who was obsessed with living forever.) Hohenheim left Trisha %26amp; his sons when he learned that his body was rotting. He could stand the idea of his sons %26amp; wife seeing him like that, slowly rotting away. Ok sorry that was long, but I think thats all the background you need to know. Envy hates Hohenheim for making him %26amp; then leaving him: "Then he left us %26amp; started a new life with his perfect wife %26amp; kids. Needless to say I never liked being replaced."

Yes he is. well, in a way. you see he died and his mum (not ed and al's mom) and dad (their dad) tryed to bring him back and that is what came out of it. but Envy isn't very happy about it. That's why he always changes how he looks whenever he can. he hates looking like their dad.

Envy is Ed and Al's half brother. Envy is the son of Hohenheim of Light (Ed and Al's dad) and Dante. Anyway, when he was still a mortal, he died from mercury poisoning when he was eighteen, and Hohenheim tried to perform alchemy to bring him back. And the result of an alchemist performing human transmutation is a homunculis, and that's how Envy came to be. He hates Hohenheim, his dad, for not acknowledging him as his son and abandoning him and Dante, and vows to kill him. In his true form, he has golden hair and looks like Hohenheim, not a dragon. Envy only took on that form when he passed through the gate to the other side.

In the show Envy is made to seem to be Ed's half brother, however since he/she can assume any form it can be a mind-game, much like if if appears as Al or their mother. So the whole thing could be a big sham to cause inner turmoil.
