WHY DOES SKiN COLOR MATTER?

We are all the same, we are all so beautiful, we are all different and that is what makes things much more exciting. Why is it that some people find the need to think that color matters? I see no difference between a human being that is a different color than I am or has a different hair color, or eye color or from a different country than I am from. WE ARE ALL THE SAME, we were all created by God, why do some people think that women are no equals to men? I found out my great grandmother used to think that men were better than women and I was surprised that a woman would think that way, some of my family members were so racist and that sometimes angers me and makes me sad for them because it makes me wonder where they are now, not that I want to find out cause believe me I DO NOT WANT TO FIND OUT WHERE SOME OF THEM ARE. What if some of these racist people get to heavens and find out that not only is God a black human being but that God is a woman?

I honestly agree with u, skin color does not matter at all. Sometimes i honestly feel bad for people that is racist to the point that they physically abuse someone because of the color of there skin and their gender. I feel bad for them only because more then likely they have been learning how to hate ever aince they were babies, toddlers and young adults. I do not completly blame the parents for their childrens hatred because as people get older they should learn how to love one another and live in harmony. I think in order to make a difference for the next generation we should stop teaching our children hate from a young age because honestly when that grows in the mind it is very difficult to blank it out. it no longer becomes a phase......... it becomes harsh reality!

Skin color shouldn't matter because God made us all in the likes of him and he made us all beautiful but racist bigots can't seem to grasp that... if they came out into the real world they would see all their assumptions go down the drain. This is a rhetorical question you know that. How old are you? Because a 12 year old could understand the meaning of what color matters at least in American society. Some of its meaning is wrong but its the society we have built. Wont change, at least for a very long time. Unless we all do some interracial breeding to the point we are all one color. It wont change.

I think we need more people like u in this world. You see people and not color, and dats beautiful! Anyone can do and be anything they wanna be no matter what! I try and fight this everyday! But u can't change people, and this world will never get over the racial hump, but as long as we have people who fight against it, there is hope. :-)

I think the question should be WHEN does skin color matter.

We are all human, we are all beautiful, we are all different. But why does that make things much more exciting? People of different colors, races, ethnic backgrounds should realise that color matters for specific reasons, and that's not a bad thing. And that there can still be harmony between the races, but not inter-racial harmony, if you know what I'm talkin' about. I mean, how many young inter-racial couples have a relationship, and experience Harmony within the family? If you want to disrupt any harmony that exists within a family, THAT'S the PERFECT way to do it!! Good luck!!

It shouldn't matter, but ever since Europeans and Spaniards started colonizing other people's lands and imposing their fictional hue-based superiority and their ideals of beauty, it started to matter. They even used the bible's use of dark as bad and white as good for this belief. They started this long ago and it persists today.
