Why do humans catch a chill when out in the rain for too long, but animals don't.?

Animals in the farm do not need to be sheltered with an umbrella or hide when it rains. Yet, why don't they fall ill, like us. It can't be the different outer body covering that causes this phenomenon, since humans, like all other mammals have hair/fur. Has it got to do with the thickness of the skin? Some animals too, do not have thick layers of skin or fat but do not fall ill despite being out in the open on a rainy day.

it is my understanding that most animals create their own vitamine C, which helps protect against a multitude of problems. G. Pigs are the exception, which is why they are used in human experiments.

I was raised in the country and worked at The Dairy. God made animals to survive in cold weather. Look how the Penguins are being affected by the weather change. If you get a chance, if you haven't already seen them, watch 2 movies "March of The Penguins" and "Snow Dogs." Maybe this will help you understand some things better. I know it did me. Also, I believe that dogs and other animals have a built in mecanism from God to protect them. Although I do have a Weimaraner and Blue Heeler who are outside pets and I do keep them inside when it gets really cold.!!! We as pet parents have a duty, responsiblity and obligation to our babies to protect them. I am a PROUD PET MAMA AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY BABIES WITH ALL MY HEART!" I hope I have shed some light on things for you.

animals have fur...that protects them frm gettin chill....humans on the other hand are bare skinned....hence....they get chills...

But animals do get ill. Animals catch colds and flu also. They also die from that.

Yes animals have fur and most have tough thick skin and a good layer of fat for insulation. But they feel the cold and the heat as well.
