My dog keeps shaking and is acting wierd? Help I need a vet.?

My dog is a brittany spaniel and she is 2.5 (human) years old, and we got her hair cut yesturday, she keeps shaking really bad, like when she does during a storm, and we don't know why. My mom really thinks there is something wrong with her. Also her nose keeps running off and on. We just gave her a new bone that she never had ate before. We really need to know what is wrong with our dog please helpppppppppp. Thanks for answering

And please dont say take her to the vet, because I cant. I wish I could. The shaking is an ocasional activity. She was doing it like two weeks ago, and then she puked twice. It is cold by where her crate is at, but she is not in her crate, just at night, and isnt shaking then. Could she be cold, if she is what should we do?5 minutes ago also she has shook before during a storm, but like she was scared, this is different

Does the grooming place have drying vents for the cages? Many dogs have died or gotten sick because of the air systems pumping harmful chemicals into the cages.

It sounds like she could be having seizures. You really need to go to the vet and see if this is the problem, because they might need to put her on medicine. Good luck!

is she small enough to hold or sleep in bed with you guys? if so, i would just wrap her up in a blanket (a microfiber warm, soft one works best) and hold her close to you because you are warm. see if the shaking stops. if it doesn't you're going to have to take her to the vet. most of them have payment plans if money is the issue.

Ithink because you cut most of its hair that it is getting colder then normal and if you don't want to take it to the vet it is fine it is your coice and it probobly isn't that bad and also take good care of it!! remember it lover you maybe also she is scared hope you find out why and sorry!!

she might be scared still from the hair cut or sencing a storm coming. my dog does tjhat sometimes. try sitting down with her on the couch under a blanket and watching tevee. just try and calm her down

Perhaps she is just scared of something. My dog shakes and throws up when:

1. She goes to the vet.

2. During a storm.

3. when hearing firecrackers.

4. Getting her hair cut.

OK! This is a serious medical problem! My dog had this problem when her kidneys swelled up to the size of baseballs. Please check your dogs sides and see if you can feel bulbous like areas. this could be their kidneys and could be of serious medical condition. Your dog might also have a problem with the stomach, a flipped or twisted stomach can cause shaking spells and terrible symptoms. The shaking also makes me think that this dog may have something like osteoporosis. GO TO THE VET NOW PLEASE! my dog is still alive and yours may be critically ill!

i know its not the answer you want to here but you have to take her to the vet. If you cant take her because you cannot afford it call the anti cruelty society or something like that and see if they have any ideas on what to do

My dog did something like that once. She's a Pomeranian named Foxy. She started choking %26amp;%26amp; acting funny %26amp;%26amp; we found out that she had an upper respitory disease, but since you're dog doesn't do that, it probably isn't that (though what you explained is how she started out.) She might just be cold or have a cold because it's been pretty cold out (unless you live in a really warm area). I don't know. You should look it up on google. Just make sure it doesn't get any worse. But if it does (even if it's close to impossible) you might have to take her to a vet. Especially if you really love her. Hopefully, she'll get better.

Thats scary! I know i get worried when my dog is seeming sick, because they cannot communicate whats wrong. Try keeping it warm by using a blanket, and if it doesn't work i dont know.

I know you said you cant take it to a vet. If it is too expensive you should raise some money somehow. Umm, try and give more information and i culd search it on the web. :(

your dog is not sick. she is just feeling something bad about her surroundings or maybe, there's somethin' in her surrounding which she doesn't like. It happened to our kitty too. maybe you should observe what is that wrong in the surroundings or what causes it.

If I went to school for 8 years, did all my internships, and had to pay all my student loans and work to make a living as a veterinarian, I wouldn't be sitting around Yahoo Answers diagnosing people's pets for free. Not only that, but diagnosing a dog based on a worded description of symptoms observed by a person who is not medically trained to notice specific things is considered malpractice.

If you're worried about your dog, find a way to have her examined. Veterinarians need more than just a paragraph of vague description. Temperature, attitude, neurological response, palpation of the abdomen and organs, etc etc etc are just the first steps in a complete physical exam, which cannot be performed electronically. If you can't have your dog looked at, then I am sorry for her, you will not find a diagnosis or treatment on the interweb.

Oh my gosh, I know that is scary for you. And you say theres no way you can take her to the vet??? Some vets will let you make payment arrangements, or you could just not tell them you don't have the money until after they help your dog...then theres nothing they can do. If not then just try to help her the best you can.

First off: has the dog had all her shots??? Has she been exposed to any sick animals say at the groomers, where I'm sure lot's of sick animals go in and out? Has your dog gotten into any pills, food, grapes, chocolate, chewing gum, etc. anything that could be toxic???

She may just be sick with a general illness such as a cold. I would cover her up and keep her warm. You can take her tempature using a rectal thermometer, lube it then stick it about an inch into her rectum for a few minutes while holding it, though I'm sure you could find specific directions on the net.

Okay, she may just still be shaken up from the stress of getting her hair cut, hold her and talk to her and comfort her. Check her gums, if they are very light pink or white it could mean she is bleeding somewhere internally. You could listen to her stomach, if it makes a lot of noise then she may have an upset stomach, since you said she puked. Hopefully she dosn't have bloat. If you don't hear any noise at all it could mean her stomach is twisted.

I know how much you love your dog and I'm sure I can relate to how horrified you must be right now. Just try to stay calm around your baby, and make her feel as comfortable as you possible can, She could be having some sort of seizures or something. There are phone numbers you can call if you think she may have gotten into something poisoness. Try human poison control they can give you a number for animal poison control. Does her breath smell normal?

Other than making her comfortable I have no clue what you can do for this. I'll pray for your doggy. Let us know if she was okay on this post.

Your dog might have cold. Dogs do get colds, including pneumonia, which happened to my dog. She had greenish, yellow phlem coming from her nose so I knew she had to go to the vet - and she shook.

Look, if you have a dog and its sick you have to take it to the vet. Call around and ask if they have payment plans. Your dog is completely dependent on you for care and if you own a dog you have to be prepared to make sacrifices in order to get it the care it needs - just like would be expected to do if it were a small child.

Well sounds to me from what your saying she is haveing a bad reaction to this bone mostlikly it may even be an allergic reaction from the sounds of it I have a dog who has simular reactions to various things and i find the very best thing for him is benadryl (even the vet said it was a good idea) I use it now every time they (my 2 dogs) get sick now the size of your spaniel is smaller and the fact that she most likely has never had it i would only give a half of the pill (or dose) what you would give a child it will most likely knock her out but when she wakes she will be back to her old self I highly recommend it for a pre vet treatment if she is still haveing issues after trying this 2 x then deffentaly take her to the vet and as for telling her temp if her nose is hot or warm she may have a slight fever which the benadryl can help with as well if you want to take the temp and you have a basic thermomitor you will have to have one person hold her and the other hold in her behind but i have never had to do that since the benadryl has always been my pre vet savyour it really works and like i said a half an adult dose or a full child dose and she should be as right as rain when she wakes it will make her a lil groggy and slightly disorentated but thats what it does while fixing the allergic reaction like i said if that doesnt help for a cheep fix then take her to the vet but i am sure it should be fine.

we took her to the vet and she just said that its usual, your dog is just growing up, theres nothing to be worring about.All dogs go threw it!!Just let her sleep in your bed and dont seem to bother her 2much!!
