Can cats catch namonia from humans?

I have fallen ill to namonia but my mom still has me put my cat in our laundry room for the night. I'm not sure if cats can get sick from namonia by getting it from humans, but my mom is risking my cat dieing my having me close to her. She is just afraid of getting cat hair on her. Can cats, or dogs, get sick from namonia by human passover.

It is very very very rare for cats to get ill from you having pneumonia. Cats however can develop pneumonia, but only from getting sick due to a severe URI from feline viruses or by inhaling particles or wet fluid into their lungs.

Just be sure your cat doesn't lie down on your face and keep you from breathing.
