I'm tryin to find name of a cheap sci-fi movie from late 60's...see details below...?

it's in color, circa 1967-70. Alien crashes on Earth. He's injured. He wanders alone till he climbs a hill and looks down upon a town. He looks like a 20-30 year old human male with dark wavy hair, but he's struggling, breathing hard, mute %26amp; not acting normally, wearing dark clothing. Then, a close-up on his face. Looks ok, till he turns his head... suddenly, there's weird music and you see all the flesh torn away from the other side of face and you see blinking multi-color electronics inside his cheek %26amp; head and accompanying blinking light sounds....bleep-Dip-dink-dit-bink, etc. So, the alien crashed near a town, had an injury that tears away half his face, it also caused him to malfunction and probably want to hurt people. I saw this once as a kid on the side of a tractor-trailer after dark at a YMCA camp in Paris, KY where those "in charge" scared the dickens out of us kids, but have never discovered it since, despite my interest in B-grade sci-fi.

Yes! That's "Frankenstein meets the Space Monster" from the mid-'60's! I saw it once or twice in the '70's...not that good as I remember. It was about a robot sent into space as an astronaut, who then crashes back on earth, damaging him. He then goes on a rampage (ala 'Frankenstein'), until a space monster arrives. They then fight to the finish, I guess. It's been a long time since I've seen it. You have a good memory!

Darn. I love sci-fi, especially the "old" movies and books - those written and produced during the early years of our Space Race and certainly before the advent of 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek'. I'm currently reading 'Colossus: The Forbin Project', and with my current perspective it is just amazing.

But I don't recognize this movie you describe. If ever you find out what that movie's title is, please come on back and let us sci-fi fans know!

The closest film in Sci-Fi flix of the 1960s-1970s sounds like a film from 1962...Creation of the Humanoids.
