Monkeys? Are you people serious?

If we evolved from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist? (I'm not trying to be smart here lol I'm really not please don't take it the wrong way I'm just curious b/c I didn't pay attention in science class) And why don't we have hair all over us? Why dont we have fossils of human/monkey people? (or do we idk if we do let me know the link to the site you find about it hehe again not trying to be smart lol)

I just wanted to say....I am not a monkey. I don't know about you, you might have evolved from a monkey, but I my friend am not. (I was trying to be smart there haha. =))

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

No, we shared a common ancestor with apes, not that we came from apes.

I think mines a Gin and tonic today

"If we evolved from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist? (I'm not trying to be smart here"

I'm glad to hear that.

Drink!

============================

Hon, you should have paid attention in science class. Your conception of evolution doesn't bear even the most remote resemblance to real evolution. It has about as much in common with evolution as Gilligan's Island has in common with the U.S. Navy.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Ever thought that an alien race might have mixed their genes with monkies and here we are? It's just a possibility mind.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

We evolved from a common ancestor of the monkey. That is why there are still monkeys. Now hopefully you won't make the same ignorant statement again.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Um, were you awake during high school science class or just making goo goo eyes with the handsome boys?

Your question is easily answered: Monkeys did not evolve into humans, it was apes silly.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Have you seen Robin Williams? I dare you to find one place on him that doesn't have hair.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Evolution branches like a tree, it isn't a straight line.

And we didn't evolve from anything living anyhow. And technically speaking you are an ape. We all are. Sorry to lay that on you.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Want a banana?

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

take another science class closed minded one!!!

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

WE didnt...give it a rest..

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

1) Us and modern monkeys have common, now extinct ancestors. Bilogically speaking, other species of primates are cousins, not ancestors/descendants.

2) As Theillard de Chardin pointed out, we actually have more hair than a gorilla. Man's hair is just a lot thinner and serves to enhance the sense of touch.

3) We do have these fossils:

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

the Clay spoken of in Genesis was the DNA of an ape not mud,God works with molecules and atoms, get with times.imagine trying to explain quantum theory to a man who thinks the world is flat

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

We didn't evolve from monkeys. If you want to know about human evolution, try the science section instead of the religion section.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Don't worry, we don't think you're smart. It is very obvious that you did not pay attention in science class as well. The theory of evolution never states that we evolved from monkeys. It very simply says that humans and monkeys shared a COMMON ancestor, monkeys went one way, humans another. I know you are not a monkey and neither am I. (Our DNA however is almost exactly the same as a monkeys though, 99% similar in fact.)

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

yes, monkeys...

pay heed to monkeys for they have seen the earth the way we have not...

you know what counters your words?

MONKEYS EAT BANANAS

if you can't see why it is so... then perhaps you are a monkey yourself

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

You Wrote: "If we evolved from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist?"

My Response: 1. We are monkeys - 'monkeys' is a generic term and not a species specific term. 2. We share a common ancestor with modern chimps. 3. When you were born did your cousins suddenly die?

You Wrote: "(I'm not trying to be smart here lol I'm really not please don't take it the wrong way I'm just curious b/c I didn't pay attention in science class) And why don't we have hair all over us? "

My Response: We do have hair all over us - it's just really 'fine' hair.

You Wrote: "Why dont we have fossils of human/monkey people? "

My Response: I'm not sure what you are actually looking for here, but we do have transitional forms. A few of them are: Australipithicine, homo erectus, homo ergaster, etc.

You Wrote: "(or do we idk if we do let me know the link to the site you find about it hehe again not trying to be smart lol)

I just wanted to say....I am not a monkey. I don't know about you, you might have evolved from a monkey, but I my friend am not. (I was trying to be smart there haha. =))"

My Response: I'm not sure why you would be offended to be related to a monkey. Why does ancestory from a monkey offend you, but ancestroy from dirt does not?

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

im pretty sure we do have some kind of hair around all of our body. and there are some kind of fossils that indicate this change. i personally dont believe it but what the heck, let science vs religion continue their battle

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

We didn't come from monkeys. We evoled from the same ancestor as today's monkey. We share much of the same genes and dna. This is science. There are fossils and findings of these common ancestors, although we have no definitive link that binds us as of yet.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Please, please, go to the library and take out a book on evolution ! You will learn it says "common ancestor", NOT monkey ! BTW, we share over 90% of our DNA with the apes.

Evolution is NOT an easy subject to study.

We still do have body hair, just not as much.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Don't bother with trying to be smart, your question shows that you sadly lack in that department.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

They exist because they are a rather competent species when it comes to survival.

The same way that elephants and lions and sea mammals have existed for thousands and thousands and thousands of years longer than humans.

Anyway, you say you didn't evolve from monkeys, so i guess i'll just have to take you literally.

*calls the feds*

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Go back to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BIOLOGY and learn the fundamental basics of evolution. Evolution is NOT automatically a "replacement" process. It is very often radiative in nature--new niches get occupied while the parent species stays in the old niche. Can it really be SO HARD to figure out??????

Second, we DO have such fossils. Your ignorance of them is no excuse.

Third, we DO have hair all over us--look at your own arms. It's just rather fine hair.

Your questions are those of the extremely uneducated and are an embarrassment to all of us Christians who were not too stupid to pay attention in the most BASIC of ELEMENTARY SCHOOL science courses.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Evolution doesn't say that people evolved from monkeys. That is a myth perpetuated by creationists to discredit evolution. We did, however, evolve from primitive apes, and monkeys also evolved from primitive apes, which is why we're related.

The reason monkeys exist is because the primitive apes underwent "divergent evolution" which occurs when one species splits into two or more separate species. The original apes we evolved from are no longer alive.

We don't have hair because we no longer have a need for it, and it is a survival advantage for humans to not have a lot of body hair.

There are lots of transitional fossils between humans and primitive apes. Here is a website with links to several:

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

The same reason there are ten foot snakes with spots and six inch snakes that are solid green.

The same reason there are wolves and there are tiny weenie dogs.

The same reason there are sharks and there are catfish.

Evolution doesn't imply the disappearance of an older species (sometimes it does, but not always). It's like a tree. Starts at a a trunk, and starts branching out into numerous things over a huge period of time.

I assume this is a joke. But knowo I amm a little biit buzzzed frrom the drinnnnnksssssssssss

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

You really must crack open a few books and watch the science channels more...there are fossils of "hominids" whose skulls have similar features to apes...many people on this planet according to their genetic heritage have hair all over their bodies...there is no empirical evidence that we descended directly from apes but there is evidence that we evolved from hominids with similar features to apes...and lost the major portion of our body hair in the process...

Follow the link...

http://anthro.palomar.edu/hominid/austra...

I don't agree with all of the theories but there is some genetic evidence that can be substantiated...

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Ahhh... the monkey question again...

...first time I've seen it today though!

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

If you truly are not trying to be smart, I have good news.

You succeeded.

That's about as not-smart as a question can get.

If you are serious, use the Question Search function. NOBODY says we come from monkeys.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Some people are just being silly.

That is not true.

They must have fell into believing that "Planet of the Apes" was based on a true story.

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

because it is all b.s

some humans were punished by god and tuned in to monkeys because disobeying him and working and hunting on Sabbath yes they r the Jews the monkeys and pigs r their an sisters

Monkeys? Are you people serious?

Adam and Eve must have been monkeys since God created them. That wad where evolution began at.
